I’ve just seen my latest hosting stats and notice that approximately 300 MB a day is being downloaded from the site which I can only assume is the mixes I've recorded. Unfortunately I can't support that type of bandwidth so in future I'll only leave a mix up for 1 month after posting. After that I'll replace the file with a small placeholder to explain.

This mix is a little different in style to the previous ones. Recorded in 1999, it's all about the disco. Can you spot some remixed classics?

Today's trance mix was recorded in December 1999 and contains a track by Lost Tribe and a few other Hooj Choons works. It ends with another Perfecto favourite - "Sun" by Virus.

Today's trance mix is a little larger than the previous two because I'm experimenting with encoding bit rates. It's recorded at 192k instead of the usual 128k. If anyone can tell the difference then I'd appreciate a comment to let me know. The mix was recorded in March 1999 and was inspired by the kind of music that Sasha and Digweed produce.

I have a large pile of records at home waiting to be mixed but I just don't have the time right now. What I do have is a number of MiniDisc recorded mixes that I made in the late 90's and later. Tastes change but some of them don't sound dated today so I thought I'd put them up here for consumption. I hope to release a few of them over the next few weeks. They are all about an hour long (the full length of a MiniDisc) but won't have a cue sheet or track listing. If you are desperate I can probably find out a particular track for you.

Today's trance mix was recorded in 1998 and begins with one of my all time favourite tracks by The Infinity Project. Enjoy...

A new delivery from Hard To Find Records has given me the chance to record a new mix. This one is a bit interesting because it's got Deep Purple, Gene Kelly and Stevie Wonder. Not often you get those three on the same compilation. Track listing is as follows (with cue sheet at the end):

  • Angello & Ingrosso - 82-83 (Extended Mix)
  • Basement Jaxx - Do Your Thing (Robbie Rivera Juicy Summer Mix)
  • Disco Darlings - Rush Me
  • Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water (2005 Remix)
  • Gene Kelly - Singing In The Rain (2005 Remix)
  • Kings Of Tomorrow - Thru (Part 2) (Junior Jack Remix)
  • Studio B - I See Girls (Tom Neville Crazy Legs Remix)
  • Ministers De La Funk - Believe (DJ Flex & Sandy Wilhelm Remix)
  • Osunlade - Pride (Remixes Part 2)
  • Stevie Wonder - Signed Sealed, Delivered (2005 Remix)
  • Stanton Warriors - Pop Ya Cork
  • DJ Flex - Hardware

Now playing: James Snape - Mix 2 (66.4 MB) and Cue Sheet (1.38 KB)

This blog has been lacking in technical content recently because we are in the "End Game" part of our project and consequently I don't want to jump the gun and talk about something thats not released yet.

This post is a head's up notification that sometime in the next month or so we should be baked enough to start talking. Hopefully I'll then be able to tell you how we pushed Reporting Services beyond it's basic feature set and indeed include features they still haven't got right in the 2005 version.

In the meantime why not sit back, relax and listen to some funky soulful house at Full House Radio.

USB micro pre phono to USB interfaceI just got my latest geek toy this morning... A USB phono/line in adapter for my laptop so I can record direct from a mixer.

To celebrate I had to record something so here is the first mix. It's what I would call lunchtime house - nothing too demanding on the ear. There are a couple of dodgy mixes in the middle that come from trying to mess around too much. Future ones will be more professional, I promise. Tracklisting is as follows:

  1. Choo Choo Project - Hazin' + Phazin' (Vocal and Original Mixes)
  2. Missy Elliott - Lose Control (Jacques lu Cont dub)
  3. Mylo - Drop the Pressure (Club Mix)
  4. DJ Gregory - Elle (Copyright Re-edit)
  5. Kathy Brown - Never Again (Classic Mix)
  6. Milk & Sugar - Let the Sun Shine (Vocal Club Mix)
  7. The Knowledge - As (Until the Day) (Solar Mix)
  8. Daddy's Favourite - I Feel Good Things for You (Original Mix)
  9. David Morales presents The Face - Needin' U (Original Mistake)
  10. Audiobullys featuring Nancy Sinatra - Shot You Down (Bang Bang)

Now playing: James Snape - Mix 1

I have some pictures of Ryan and I DJ'ing at TJ's party. Koan also managed to take a few but none of me playing - was my music that bad?

I was just looking to get into music downloads and guess what Scoble says. Is he psychic?

When I'm in front of my computer all day I usually listen to music. Since getting broadband I've discovered the Radio 1 On Demand Player. It's a great way to catch all the specialist shows they do in the evenings plus my favourite, The Essential Mix - recorded live in a club in the wee small hours of Sunday morning.

Radio 1 have recently changed their line up and I'm really enjoying one of the new shows: Annie Mac who plays a pretty cool mix of house, hip hop, bass and beats.

I don't normally link other stuff, but seeing as I'm at home on a day off sitting in front of the computer playing with a Microsoft product I thought it was quite relevant (although I'm not married)...
